--------
Based in Karatsu, Tsuchiya established her own kiln at the age of 23 after studying under Takashi Nakazato.
She has devoted herself to the study of traditional Karatsu ware, faithfully reproducing classic forms while developing her own style—most notably her signature Black Karatsu pieces.
Her work is understated yet full of depth. When viewed in natural light, subtle hues of blue, silver, or green emerge from the surface, with each piece revealing its own unique scenery.
Rooted in the tradition of Karatsu ware as “everyday ceramics,” her pieces are designed to complement food and integrate naturally into daily life.
Striking a balance between refined presence and ease of use, her ceramics are both elegant and practical, making them a cherished part of the table.
